Dometic RM2410.2RX

1. I have had trouble with my Dometic RM2410 2 way fridge. Last fall it stopped working in the Gas mode. 120 vAC Electric works fine. I cannot find a ladder diagram of the sequence of operation of the gas. Obviously is functions totally independent of any power source.
2. There is a thermocouple to hold the burner valve open ... the burner flame is working
3. An gas flow adjustment screw on the gas inlet before the gas valve.
4. What regulates the cooling level? I see a Peito tube that has something to do with refrigeration. If that is universal to both Gas & Electric then that is not my problem.
5. Suggestions and explanations. I function best when I'm given a technical explanation. The big Why. ( I never out grew my terrible 2s) Why!!

My sister and brother-in-law are/were having the same problem.

At our first and only Good Sam rally, they did a class on RV Refrigeration.

The fellow doing the class had a disassembled refrigerator and showed us the long
slender tube where insects/mud-dobbers like to build nests. He said that, if the fridge will cool on AC but not propane, the first thing to do is to check/clean out that burner tube.

Please take no offense. You mentioned the thermocouple, but you didn't mention testing it. it is probably the least expensive repair possible, so make sure it works.

Jim.. Just bite the bullet and pull the trailer to an RV repair facility and for a few bucks let the professionals trouble shoot and solve your problem.. For myself tires, suspension, axels and propane related stuff I give to the pro's - for both safety and certification reasons - the rest I'll take my chances ��

1. Chris That's Where I started but the RV service shop is booking into June and I am leaving for Arkansas next week.
2. Tom No I haven't check the output of the thermocouple. First: if it were not working the flame would die. Second: I don't know, if that sensor has anything to do with fridge temp control. ( I insist on knowing why) I'm a residential Plumbing and Heating tech guy myself, and I train my guys to ask why and to understand a piece of equipment before condemning a component. Sometimes experience tells us to replace a component and move on. in the meantime I prefer the hard route to those kinds of decisions, in order to become the expert, so I can begin to make those kinds of decisions.
3. Ray I've gotten your advice from a couple of different angles and will pursue that on this journey to unravelling the mystery.
4. Y'all, I am curious about the operation of propane fridges. I'm not an RV refrigeration guy. Without pulling this thing apart I cannot see where that Capillary tube connects. (excuse me, but in my first post I accidently called it a peito tube) Does it monitor the temp of the fridge and that regulate the flow of ammonia liquid/gas. Where does the temperature nob on the fridge link up to. I have not seen a tech sheet that shows that order of function. I'm just as annoying when I go to the physiotherapist and they order me to do certain exercises. Show me how my joints, muscles, and tendons work so I understand how these exercises are helping. Like my Dad used to say " I'm from Missouri, Show me don't tell me"

I got the thing working. What was a jug of water in the freezer in the morning, is now a block of ice. Blowing out the heat exchanger tube did it.
Now I'm ready to head South. It's crazy around here. One day it's beautiful, balmy weather, and then we have overnight freezing. This morning it all of a sudden started snowing. at this rate I'll never get to de-winterize my trailer before leaving. We'll spent out first night in Sioux Falls SD. Back in April of 2014 (the Mother of all Winters) we arrived in Sioux Falls to 3 inches of fresh snow. Our Scamp was brand new, still dry never been used. We had to winterize it upon our return from Arkansas a week later. In mid May 2015 we left in sleet on our trip to the East Coast. Did someone say something about Global Warming? The only way I'm going to feel warmer is to head to a Warmer part of the Globe.
