I have read on here that the newer Dometic vents allow water in in a driving rain. It looks to me that it would depend on which way it was mounted. The one I just bought has no instructions and I am wondering what the INTENDED orientation is.

The two access panel holes for the plastic locks are to be at the bottom as in pic 2.

This is the factory recommendations, there is a little known rain shield made for long term storage for these doors from Dometic.

Thanks Harry, I would have guessed that way, but the rain issue put me off.

I am amazed that rain gets in with it installed the "proper way".
