I have a 1974 that doesn't have the rectangle shape windows- they are more parallagram shape. When you say pop out I am not sure what you mean. Are you wanting to replace/remove them or open them?

The screens are mounted from inside, so you have to fully open the window to get the screen out. There's probably a spring loaded gizmo on the end toward the middle of the window, so you push the screen against that, and then pop the end out of the window frame. This isn't always easy, especially if it's been a while and dirt/corrosion/etc makes it hard to move the screen. But gentle persistence should get the job done.

To start, there are no dumb questions. Know one knows everything and there is only one way to find out - ask questions.

If they are like the trillium, you need a flat blade - I use a regular, non sharp knife. Push the screen upward and slide the knife under the bottom edge where ever you can get it under. Then slide the knife side to side to lift the edge out of the track. Hope that helps.
