I have a 1977 Trillium 4500 with a Duo-Therm 65810-2.

I have a problem where the thermocouple does not get hot enough. If I put it above the pilot light, it works fine (replaced the thermocouple and have the same issue).

I am wondering if anyone has a photo of their Duo-Therm showing if the pilot light is intended to be above the thermocouple. On mine the thermal couple is below the pilot light, which is why I assume it does not get hot enough.

Thanks!

I could not find a picture, but the thermocouple is suppose to be just touching the tip of the inner flame.
When you look at the pilot flame you should see a lighter blue flame and then a brighter blue inner flame.

On mine the thermocouple is below the pilot, but there is a curved hood on the pilot which directs the flame toward the thermocouple.

At least I think that's how it's supposed to work -- I haven't tried lighting the furnace yet.
