Electric tongue jack

We have a 16' Scamp. What brand electric tongue jack would members recommend? Thank you. Bob

Almost anything rated for 3500 lbs will work, also need to have an emergency crank for when the battery is dead.
This is the one from Scamp direct.

This is the one I have, and I have sheared the pin in it by running it to far.

Thank you very much for your reply. I decided to go with the one that Scamp sells and then questioned whether or not u can use the wheel with the electric jacks.

...in my driveway. It hangs to low for road use, and many gas station entrances.

I understand it might be a problem to leave a wheel on but my question is just whether or not a wheel can be used in place of the flat pad.

I roll the Scamp head first into the parking space with the wheel and then put the pad back on then drop the stabilizers. My hope is that it will at least slow down any theft attempt.

Do not use UF electric tongue jack

Use any brand but UF, which seems quite popular. I have gone through 3 of them. Yes, I am a slow learner. One was on my 17’ Casita when I bought it. It went out at 3 years. The next one lasted a year and the third one is headed for the trash heap now, failing shortly after the warranty expired. The problem? In each one of them, the “up-down” switch failed. In the last two, the terminals on the switch had corroded and turned to dust (after only a year.) It’s probably what happened to the first one, though I didn’t check. And, no, the jacks were never submerged in salt water.

Once again I thank everyone who has responded. I do, however, still question if there are power tongue jacks that can accept a wheel in place of the flat rectangular or round plate that touches the ground. Maybe all electric tongue jacks allow either a wheel or plate.

I've been using the Barker VIP 3500 for the past five years and love it. It's high end and very well engineered. It's nice that you can rotate the head in case you need more room for your back trunk to open and close.

My Barker is over 10 years old, I was repainting it because it was yellowing and Barker sent me a batch of the stickers for free.
Great company and product.

One of the pics in the ^^ link to the Scamp jack shows it's components. Looks like the plate is mounted on the tube via a pin. So long as the wheel has the same mounting system it should be doable. [Without seeing one, I assume that IF modifications to any wheel attachment are needed, it should be a fairly straightforward process ... especially if you have a grinder and welder on hand.]
