Extra bunk

I have a 1986 16 ft Scamp Deluxe. Unfortunately it has the layout consisting of one double bed and no bunks. Front shower/toilet, lots of cabinet space, frig., furnace, sink, stove, but no place for our grandson! I'm thinking of mounting a removable bunk under the windows above the sink. It will span the double bed on one end with plenty of room for feet. Has anyone tried this? Or do you have any other suggestion for an extra bunk? Next question is how best to mount and support it?
