Fiamma Awning Reel

Regarding my 2009 17' Casita SD Fiamma Awing. On my last camping trip the awning would not reel out. With the crank arm inserted it would just spin without activating the awning movement outward. It was as if the connection to the reel had become separated. It has always worked before and had worked the previous time I was out. Also, I can't see how to remove the end cap from the awning to see inside where the crank/reel connects to the awning. Any ideas?

Thanks for any help provided.

Go to the Fiamma web site and enter your awning number in the search. They have most parts available as well as exploded views so you can see what’s what. We needed a left inner end mount and since we were coming through Orlando on our way home, we stopped by the Fiamma facility and picked it up.

even though it might not be a exact match to your model this video from youtube shows how to replace the part on your awning that is a likely cause of the issues. Not the best image quality but it will give you a clue to how to get the end cap off and remove the part.

The video shows having to fully extend the awning in order to access the screw that secures the end cover plate. If Ron's awning will not extend, this may prove to be a stumbling block.

I am not sure if you could manually pull the awning out of its enclosure. It would take two people pulling equally on each end of the awning. I imagine that may prove very difficult. Calling Fiamma may be the only solution.

Hopefully they will let us know if it can be extended by pulling on it to access the screws.

I know the Fiamma awinging I have can be extended that way.
