Put up some photos of the damage. Fiberglass filler should do the trick.

Pin holes

If you a talking chips in the gel coat there is a product called "MagicEzy" that looks like it should work well. I got some but have not used it yet.

For repairing non-structural damage, the most basic steps include cleaning and roughing up the surface with a grinder and/or 60-80 grit sandpaper, then cleaning the surface again with alcohol or acetone. Shallow damage to the gelcoat can be repaired with body filler.

If the chips are visible, cosmetic in nature, there is work involved in achieving a visually appealing result. This involves filling and sanding with finer and finer grit sandpaper, then applying matching paint or gelcoat.

I went to a marine dealer and picked up a tube of gel coat repair
It was inexpensive ( $7 a tube ) and easy to apply
They use it to repair fiberglass boats that get chipped
