fiberglass repair quote

I just got quoted $500 cash to fix the fairly big damage on inside and both outside cracks - remember I am in the SF bay area things can be a bit more expensive here - I hope I am not getting ripped off - bid went down from $650 since he has guys sitting around on their hands today . The inside issue would be a hard first project I think.

And they are going to do it today in my driveway ..

Poor thing. I can't tell you if that's reasonable or not.

BTW: Your link is broken, this is correct: Erin's Link

As a service provider in a large California city, I know Retail labor prices routinely exceed $100 per hour plus travel expenses for on-site work. My employer charges $125 per hour portal-to-portal plus $2.25 per mile round trip during normal weekday hours.

Your quote sounds reasonable for a Sunday House-call.

Is this a boat repair or car repair business? Both will make it look good but my instinct is that a boat repair business will make it structurally sound as well. May I suggest you ask them how they will do the repair. Knowing that, folks can better advise you. Good luck, Raz

I forgot and gave him $450 which he apparently was cool with - and he hit another spot. Mostly used epoxy but at least it will not leak - that was important - lol He offered me 4k for it.

Erin,
Check out my photo album, I recently put in a laminate floor and it was easy. Cost was less than $100 and maybe 2-3 hours. The molding will hide any imperfections.

I think this price is reasonable. Had some fiberglass work done by someone I found through work & was charged more than that. Also, he had it FOREVER..
