Found a crack in my grey tank.

I found a crack in the top left hand side of my Egg camper gray tank. It's only a hare line one about two inches long. I found it when I was treating my tank with a sludge eating tank treatment.
Any ideas on what to try and patch it with ( calk, plumbers putty, gas tank putty?) dropping it is not really a option. It's in a tight spot. Any ideas would be great!!!!!
Thanks! Jason

First and foremost, drill a small (1/8") hole at each end of the crack to stop it from growing.
Then find out what it's made out of. You may have to ask the mfg to get a correct answer. Different plastics will accept or reject different patching materials/glues etc.

One note, pvc or abs pipe adhesive will not work an flat surfaces.
GO2 glue works great on most plastics, but you will need to apply pressure on the patch while it sets up.

Thanks Bob I forgot about the hole trick I use to do that on cracks on the heat shield on my airplane heater box.

If your tank is Black (ABS) this is a really good tank repair thread. The repair actually starts at post #94.
