I'm thinking of buying a Trails West Campster that I found in my area for a really low price. Unfortunately, the floor needs attention and the frame could be bent or cracked which has caused some slight shell damage.

Does anyone have any experience separating the shell from the frame? How about the floor? With the interior gutted, can this be removed from the fiberglass bottom or is it cemented down in some way.

Any tips you can send my way I would really appreciate. Thanks in advance.

Larry (of Larry and Carrie) had a great thread about renovating his Compact Jr. He did a total frame-off restoration. There's also a yellow one in the midst of a frame-off. Maybe that's Cliff? I don't have time to search right now as I'm just taking a break during a road trip, but I know they're within the last year or so.

I realize these aren't Campsters, but they do have a lot of similarities.

I have a feeling I'm going to have one of these some day; my square car cries out for one
