Front Window Cover - Source for Aluminum 'C' Channel

Hello. I am looking for source for aluminum 'C' channel. I'm rebuilding the window cover on the front of my 1975 Trillium. The original blew off while crossing he Bonnelville Salt Flats. I've recreated the rectangular cover and I'm now working to rebuild the sliding 'arms' that support cover while its in the up position. The original arms (I still have one) is made of two nesting pieces of aluminum 'C' channel (two photos below). Does anyone know where I can source similar aluminum pieces?
I've also looked into using gas struts as arms to hold up this cover but I'm worried the base where the struts connect to the fiberglass is too weak to support the force needed to 'close' the struts. If you have thoughts on a light weight gas strut option I would be thankful.
I appreciate your help.

easier to find Square tube and run it on a table saw and cut out what you don't want.

I have similar I need to replace on my Fiber Stream. I was almost wondering if you could use gas shocks like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y3Z6KHX?

If you can't find it locally, McMaster Carr will have it.
