Well, I have spent the last couple of months working on my 13' scamp and it's coming along nicely. However, I still have a few things holding me up. I ordered a gravel shield w/hardware from scamp and it comes without instructions and I can't make heads or tails of the huge bag of hardware. So if somebody has some advise or some close up pics I would be greatfull. Also, i'm wondering if someone knows where to find melamine paint, I found a place that can order it, but i can take a couple of weeks.

Thanks

Mine only has eight peices of hardware. On the trailer at the top is the flat hook facing out. That connects to one of the flat slots on the gravel guard. The other flat slot is on the bottom of the window of the trailer which the latch mechanism on the gravel guard connects to.

Con posted some pictures in Boler Mods thread.

Melamine paint can be had almost anywhere they sell house paint nowdays, pretty common stuff (well at least anywhere where they will tint colours for you).

I've got a suggestion about mounting the gravel shield...I just put one on last summer. Use stainless steel fasteners on the gravel shield...not the supplied rivets. You'll be drilling through the black trim in order to mount the shield pieces and that trim has metal underneath the vinyl.

Also, the supplied metal pieces from Scamp are cheap metal and they will rust (and you'll end up with rust marks running down the front of the gravel shield and the trailer), unless you either paint them or keep them heavily waxed. I chose to use wax. I bought some silicone spray wax and sprayed the heck out of the pieces before I mounted anything to the trailer. Now I wax those pieces at the same time the rest of the trailer gets a coat.

In order to get all the pieces in the right spot, before drilling anything. I used masking tape and taped everything together and then taped the gravel shield to the trailer. Marked where the holes needed to go...then proceeded. I found the window trim was slightly higher on one side (about 1/8 inch), so was glad I worked completely on one side (top and bottom)..then the other. Had I drilled everything first, I could have ended up with a problem.

Thanks for the help guys. Those pictures are what I needed, and hopefully all goes well on the install tomorrow.
