"Grunting" water pump

Last year when I noticed that the water pump in my 2002 Casita was "grunting" that was soon followed by a terrible leak which I had repaired at a local RV shop. So I figured the bothersome sound would stop once the leak was repaired.

Now I find that the pump is doing that same grinding, grunting sound when I'm using my water tank and off the grid. There's no leak. I've gone under to make sure that there's no leak--I haven't been able to detect any water leakage at all. So it's not the pump just trying to equalize the pressure from water leakage.

And, yet, the pump keeps giving out with these nagging grunts and grinds.

Could it be that I just need to replace the pump? It works fine, but for those sounds.

You still have a leak somewhere. It could be the check valve between the pump and the tank. Thus you would NOT see any water.

If you can install a pressure gauge somewhere in the system then you can see if the pressure is going back down.

If it happens to fast between grunts, then turn off the pump after it get up to pressure.
