I know this is a long shot, but I'm looking for this header seal for a Hehr Jalousie window. Has anyone ever ran across it? Its 5/8" wide. I've looked everywhere on the internet, even vintage trailer supply dot com. Thanks in advance.

Frank, is that a rubber piece or metal? My only suggestion is to look at this page, about 3/4 of the way down, under Window Moldings, Top Track: http://www.interstatemetals.com/cat_windows2.htm. We have had several member that have contacted Interstate directly, perhaps you may have luck as well. I know one individual sent them a small piece of gasket material, in your case perhaps they'd be just as happy with a clear picture.
Best of luck!

Thanks Donna....Its rubber. I looked at that top track one, don't think its it. I may have to go with something like this.
http://www.technologylk.com/crl-gray-showe...-SDS600C-8.html
Which is very close, but the 5/32 tee head is a bit to large. The head on my seal is very tiny, maybe 1/16" There are some more shower sweeps out there, and one may work. I discovered the shower sweeps after I posted.
I'm just surprised I cannot find the original or a knock off of the original being the window is a Hehr.
Thanks again,
Frank

Frank,
Please let us know what you find that will work.
My '78 trillium needs those strips on all the
windows, too. Good Luck.

Can you tell for sure if that is the original profile? It looks a bit different than the header seal I'm used to seeing, and I can't figure out what the extra "grips" are for (?).
Is it for the camper in your avatar (which looks like it has sliders..)?
Is it for the small (door/stove) jalousie or the larger (dinette) one?
Raya
PS: For others looking, you might see if this matches - it's the Vintage Trailer Supply jalousie header seal:
As Donna mentioned, Interstate Metals also has a good selection of seals.

Hi Raya....I'm not sure if its original, but at my local RV supply store, they had a used Hehr window sitting around, and it had the exact same seal in it, so I'm thinking it is.
Its for a window in a 1966 Aladdin Travel Trailer, and the windows are around 16 x 20.
I'm also not sure what the extra grips are for, maybe they act as a stiffener to keep the seal at its required rear angle??
Here's an action shot.
Thanks
Frank

Good Morning,
Here is a photo of what I think is the original Trillium Hehr window gasket. I bought the rig
from the original owner and it seems that he did not replace anything on the trailer...
Much work done... some to go.
G'Day

Frank,
Okay, I did not understand it was for a different type of travel trailer. That, plus your photo, explain it. (Although I'm still not convinced that is the correct gasket; look at how it distorts as it passes over the vertical member - that does not seem right.)
Larry,
That is slightly different from the Vintage one - I can see it has that "H" section at the top. I wonder if Interstate or Pellandent might have it?
Edited to add: Pellandent has some possibilities, including this "Hehr Seal" (dimensions are on the site):

Frank, when I redid my windows the part I used in this area was "Part number 009-111" from Interstate metal fabricators. It worked great on my jaloused hehr window.

I used part no 009-291 and it's perfect for my Trillium 4500 1978.

Folks you're being very help, especially for those that need the info. But Frank hasn't been around for a while: Last Activity: 08-16-2011 02:33 PM. Thought I'd let you know... if he doesn't respond.

Are the jalousie windows on a Trillium the same as a Boler.? I have a 75 13' Boler and the crankouts are in pretty rough shape.

Yeah I know it is 4 years later. The question is being answered for anybody searching.
The windows between a Trillium and boler are similar, not the same.
Even when it comes to the same trailer, the windows may have been made in different places or at different times.
On Edit: Case in point Raya posted the rear side windows in her 1974 boler were made by Berdick, yet the window in the door and above the stove were made by Hehr http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ows-37013.html
The cranks are called "operators". They come in many styles. Most of them are still available. For example Vintage Trailer Supplies has a bunch of different ones.

I found a link to another vintage trailer supplier on the canned ham site.
Vintage Trailer Shop - Vintage Trailer Shop
This sure looks like it to me
And for the other header seals that were mentioned earlier in this thread, the one Vintage Trailer Shop stocks looks closer to the seals in both my Trillium and boler American than the ones that both Vintage Trailer Supply and Pelland Enterprises stock .
Here is the one from Vintage Trailer Shop
Top Seal for hehr 4900 Series Vintage Window
I will order some of this in. I've got a sample coming from Vintage Trailer Supply and I'll see if I can get a piece from Pelland.
Pelland has the same Hehr part number but the profile looks different.
Pelland Enterprises Motor Home Products - Pelland Enterprises
And this is the one from Vintage Trailer Supply:
