Height of fiberglass trailer interior

Beginning to look for an Escape, Casita etc. Can you tell me which brands of the Fiberglass trailer lines would accomodate someone 6’5” for standing, bed width. So many don’t. Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike

This is going from memory of my own search over 3 years ago. I’m 6’4

Casita was too short. I think the EggCamper was tall inside. I was starting to narrow to Parkliner, Lil Snoozy, Escape. Parkliner was having major issues at the time. I was really focusing on Lil Snoozy but hadn’t seen in person

Then had a chance to see an Escape 19. That one, like the 2016 model I then got new, listed as 6’5 interior. Bed is fine, standing barefoot is fine in the center, slight curve to roof. With shoes my head just touches the center. My head will hit the light, a/c. The bathroom/shower is more like 6’0” but is usable.

The body of the Escape was changed in later 2016 just after I got mine so don’t know details on current one

Not sure of any others but Escape has a referral program. Contact them and they can give you info for anyone in your area who has agreed to show their trailers. Nothing beats actually standing in one. Another is going to a rally if any near you. That is how I saw a Casita.

My grandson is 6'5". The only trailer I've had that he could stand upright in was the Parkliner. That was a 2012 model and I don't know about the newer model.

I'm 6 ft 7. Most important for me was the Escape bed size. In the 19 you get a full Queen size bed, about as good as it gets, IMHO. Ditto on the interior height, at 6 ft 5 inches.

Keep a sharp eye out. Someone posted a week or two ago about a Parkliner they were preparing to sell. I think they may have been in upstate NY. By the way, used Parkliners don't show up often.

Found it. Contact this poster.

Keep in mind the Parkliner has undergone very major changes since 2012, mostly for the better. I think the new models retain the 6'5" ceiling and full queen sized bed.

The 17 foot Casitas are higher than the 13 or 16 foot models. But they're not 6'5". Casita website says 6'1-1/2". Good luck!

I'm 6'2" and pretty sure the Casita measurement is pretty accurate, and the "taller" Scamp seems to be the same size as the Casita.

I think Parkliner didn't change the cabin shell size; the extra foot added to the new models is on the tongue, where batteries and tanks got crowded. Mine's a 2014, and is 82" wide at the bed, almost 78" high in the cabin, but a shade over 75" under the ceiling light. Bath is probably 6'2" and a bit. The new ones have A/C on the roof (moved from the earlier side wall); it will protrude down, I'd guess about the same as my light.

Many will wisely say that bed size is more important than ceiling height, but at a rally, I found I really didn't enjoy even limited moving around under a ceiling with knobs and stuff sticking down, so for me, both were important.

I think in addition to those in Jeff's rundown, the bigger Oliver is 6'7". And Lil Snoozy's design is all clean on the ceiling, which helps.
