Hello and help re Water leaking in around door

Hello!

I am a new owner of a 74 ( i think) boler purchased in Alberta and brought to its new home in Yukon.

On the trip, I was able to discover that everything seemed to work perfect ( original fridge, stove and heater) but that there was water getting in somewhere.

It appears to be getting in through the door frame, while the trailer is being towed. You can clearly see the water hitting the front of the trailer, and then the line stopping dead as it enters into the door frame. I have replaced all the original draft stop material, and tried to build up a strong seal, however, when hit with a jet stream from the hose, water is still getting in.

Has anyone a) had this issue and b) experimented with some sort of guide or overhang in front of the door to sweep the water over this area?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Tracy

PS - any idea how to determine for sure the year of the boler? the registration says 1964 ( clearly an error) and all the stickers I can find are so faded I cant read them...

Hi Tracy, and welcome. I would imagine that some other folks have had a similar situation and will be able to chime in with ideas. I know that on my former Burro, the previous owner had added a piece overtop the doorway because it was a known issue with Burros.

thats not a bad idea. you could test it with some good double stick tape and a piece of vinal molding,,, or aluminium or something. maybe have to try a few shapes to find one that works
