I am looking at a 16' 1979 Fiber Stream fixer upper. The interior walls seem to have a texture coating that looks like old dried up oatmeal. Is this the normal interior wall coating? It looks like quit a job to remove this texture material.

I think I got lucky, in that mine is painted with enamel paint on the inside. I think that spray on coating you're looking at was in Ken,Chris Hildner's Fiber Stream. I seem to remember him talking about removing it so he could carpet his walls... but, I do not know if I am remembering correctly.

I wish I could help but mine has panels inside forming sort of a double layer with the skin.
All I see is wallpaper on wood.
The unfinished areas are raw fiberglass which oddly to me is black where there is no gelcoat.
