Cool Help! Loading a Boler on trailer tomorrow 9/4/21

Need sound advice! Loading a Boler on a trailer to make 100 mile trip. Picking up sight unseen so I don’t know how sound the frame is. There is NO floor in it. I am going to strap it down but without the floor in place I don’t want to crush the fiberglass. Any suggestions

1 Strap through the bumper
I strap around the axle
1 strap where the tongue meets the body
1strap under the center of the trailer
Take your time and use logic when strapping down
Secure the door and remove panels that open like on the furnace etc or Secure with good masking tape
Use the wide two inch straps and don’t let the ratchet buckles ride on the fiberglass. Use towels to protect
Stop after 10 miles and thoroughly inspect for tightness.
Don’t over tighten the cinch on the straps encircling the body to the frame.
Take your time
Have a helper
Take a toolbox and a credit card alon.
Check your mirrors often. Run with your tow vehicle and trailer lights on.
Check tire pressures on your trailer
Be especially vigilant if there is wind
Tape the roof vent down.
Avoid rain if possible.
Secure or remove battery if so equipped. A battery spill is a mess.
Take your time
Good luck

Get a few load bars to support the roof. You can find them at Harbor Freight and many truck stops. Bring duct tape and be prepared to tape windows and door. Don’t over tighten straps.’

Thanks thrifty bill
I had thought about taking some 1 x 6 lumber to help support the roof. Would there be places to brace them. I have 1 load lock like you are talking about. This thing has been sitting in the same spot for at least 34 years in the wet mountains of NC.

Without a floor, I was thinking you could either load lock from the flat bed trailer up, or perhaps the frame on the Boler. Think of it as a block of jello. Floor gives it some structure, no floor, more jiggle. You will have to be FLEXIBLE as once you get into it, you will find out what problems you face. I'd take some scrap pieces of carpet, or towels, small pieces of plywood, something to spread the load lock across.

We have decided to support the top like you said from the trailer floor to the ceiling. Straps around in several locations. Sure do appreciate the help. Wish us luck

Well it loaded on the trailer after about 5 hours of careful work. Made the 100 mile trip safely. Now the remodel begins

We use truck bed spreaders for winter snow support floor to roof and they can be affordable. Have had 2' of snow on roof to clear at times, they work and bill like your tape idea tape idea. Best part is can use them later when winter camping.

US built frame for Boler

Does anyone know of a place in the US that has the specs for the 13’ Boler frame and builds them. Cost is way too much to buy from Canada and have shipped to South Carolina. If we had the exact measurements we could check here
