help needed finding rocker switch please

Hi all, I have a 1980 trillium 1300 which may have the original porch light, or maybe not. Anyway the rocker switch for the light is stuck. I am told these are easy to replace, but it seems everything I find online is either too big, too small, too many amps, too many pins, on and on. (The only thing ever right is the price. ).

I'm looking to replace a defond 3A 18V (?) T85, that is 15mm x 20mm, and about 22mm deep. 2 pin. See pic.

Would I be safe getting one with a higher amperage rating? The size is kind of important, but if I found a 3 pin with the right stuff, can I subtract a pin? In a world full of switches, is there nothing for my tiny little trailer? Thanks in advance,

Colleen O

Higher amps, or volts are no problem. Just be sure that it is rated for DC service. Since it will never see more than 12 VDC, (14.4 when charging) a 12 VDC rating is all you need. A three pin switch is likely a three way switch. As long as you use the common, and one of the other pins, you should be fine. You don't need to remove the other pin.

That is a very Common RV switch, any RV place (or maybe Walmart) will have it.

Can you measure the HOLE that it goes into?
I bet we can find something if you know those two dimensions.

I modified my Scamp to get the switch INSIDE. It would be much easier for OP to replace the inside switch and keep the old light.

The Trillium (at least mine) includes inside switch standard. The OEM Bargman porch light can be purchased with or without the built in switch. Depends on whether you want to be able to turn the porch light on/off from both inside and outside.

Thanks to you for replying. I purchased a switch from ebay that works fine. It's nice to know the Bargman lights are still available. Thanks David T for the amperage voltage answer--
