Help with older model refrigerators

We just recieved our first camper as a gift/hand-me-down from my uncle. We are currently making sure everything works. We had the refrigerator working. But all of a sudden the fridge doesn't work at all and the freezer only works on gas. We checked the owner's manual and it might as well be written in jibberish. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to check first? We really don't want to buy a new fridge for this thing seeing as though we haven't even used it yet and the camper itself is pretty old. By the way the camper is an 1985 Jayco and the fridge is a Dometic RM661. Any suggestions at all will be greatly appreciated Thanks so much. Phil
