hitch wobble

Hi, I have a new tow vehicle, a Mazda CX 9. The new hitch I had installed has so much play that my 15ft Trillium is rattling all over my spine. I have purchased u bolt shaped hitch stabilizer, and wonder, does anyone have one installed? I am skeptical as I look at my Amazon purchase.

I like my "Quiet Hitch". It really took the "slop" and noise out.

That does look like a good set up. Do you have to remove it to pull out the ball part? My arthritis is slowing everything down... What tools are needed?

I use the same or a similar one. I always install it with the nuts and plate on the bottom thinking that you want to pull the draw bar down rather than up. I'm not sure it makes any difference.

We have the same set up, purchased from Amazon. It really does quiet the hutch and prevent that wobble.

Yes, you do need to remove the Quiet Hitch clamp to remove the ball mount because the clamp pinches the ball mount down onto the receiver, but it only takes a 9/16" wrench or 9/16" socket with ratchet. Just takes a minute to put on or take off and weighs very little.

If you look closer, you'll see that I did mounted the Quiet Hitch clamp so that it snugs the ball mount bar down (normal position under load). I just chose to have the threads pointed up to make it easier to see the threads and tighten the nuts while standing. It would be the same force if you rotated the clamp 180 degrees, but then the threads would be under the hitch, pointed down away from you, and you'd have to almost get down on your knees to tighten the nuts. It's not my knees I'm worried about, it's getting back up off my knees once down there that I try to avoid if possible....

I'd like to see the bolts as my bifocals add a challenge when getting down.... so now I have to get some options and try them out before my big 2 month trip north from California all the way to Banff and points beyond. This retirement is FANTASTIC.. Thanks to all for the encouragement.
