Hot H2o Heater Switch

Our 1980 Scamp has an electric Hot H2O heater. There is a of-off switch on the heater mounted under the cabinet. We have a problem remembering to shut it off. I would like to install a lighted switch on the front of the cabinet that will remind us it is on. Could someone provide a wiring diagram explaining how this would be wired in? We have such a switch wired in to the water pump.

The heater is 120VAC and the water pump is 12VDC so they are different. I purchased a receptacle at Lowes that has a AC outlet and a RED light above it and installed it in a location where it would fit, B out of the way and highly visible at the same time. If you do not know electrical wiring I advise you employ an electrician to do the work.

In both cases, a simple light wired from the HOT wire of the switch on the close side to neutral (in the case of the AC circuit) or to ground (the DC circuit) will work just fine. That's really all those lighted-when-on switches do. Your friendly Radio Shack will have the appropriate lights.
