Was your 7 pin connector factory installed and hooked up so that it actually supplies 12 volts on the charging wire? Have you confirmed that you are actually getting 12 volts on the charging circuit as you drive? A simple test would be to plug a volt reader into a DC outlet in your camper, check the voltage while the tow vehicle is not running, and then turn the tow vehicle on and see if the voltage goes up (it should) or stays the same.

When we got our Casita, we checked the TV and found that the wire that goes from the TV battery to our pig tail wasn't connected so we had to manually hook it up (after reading on line how to do it).

Turned out the wiring in the camper wasn't connecting the car to the battery. The repair guy who figured that out then fixed it and it has worked great ever since.

To limit battery drain , on nights where the outside temps are above freezing, we turn the furnace on right before going to bed to warm up the trailer , then shut the furnace off until morning, then start it up again to take the chill off
We have gone 3 to 4 days on a single 27F battery without recharging

We do carry a heavy wool blanket with us when camping in the Spring & Fall
