The AC is inside by the door which will give less wind drag but less storage which I like. I am trying to research if I need the Anderson hitch thing to town this behind my Toyota 4Runner.

I can't imagine need more than a good reciever for a good hitch on the Tow Vehicle. Might depend a bit on if you have towed before. The regulator in the door is probably part of the frig.

Yeah certainly the recommendation of new tires and getting the bearings packed would be wise. Heck that might be a great way to determine the status of the axle. It should be pretty cheap (for mechanicing) to have them packed and the mechanic would inspect the axle anyway and ask him to report. Make a deal with the seller, you will pay to have the bearings packed and inspected and will pay that bill even if you don't take it. That way you would know.

Fiberglass trailers generally last about forever. Mine is a 93 Scamp and it has needed some repairs and then I have done some upgrades. But frankly I abuse a trailer a lot more than you likely would. I got to horrible places to help and live out of it there. If it could talk it could tell some interesting stories ;-) But in reality is is sound and likely will last another 30+ years with reasonable maintenance.

Frankly as long as you get a good deal and there is not a show stopper it sounds like you found a winner.

The capable if many repairs would probably be the key. If you were unable to do maintenance and reasonable repairs it would be a good idea to walk away. But if you can do repairs AND can get a good price it might be the time to jump.

The real issues to look for are the axle, as you mentioned and the frame. If the frame has a problem don't walk away, ---- run. If the axle is a problem that is repairable, but by a professional. So you would need to get the unit pretty cheap. As I said just count on getting the bearings packed for peace of mind. And having that done now as a part of the deal would be a way to get a professional to check for the show stoppers. Most of the other problems are skill amateur repairable. And these units can be a lot of fun. Depends on if you want that type of fun.

the weak link on any RV is the appliances inside it. refrigerator, air conditioner, heater/furnace, water heater, water pump, cooking gear, etc.
