Hydro flame BRC-10A lighting help

Hi,

I’m just about to test my furnace for the first time. Just hooked up my propane, spray-tested for leaks, and now I’m ready to light. I’ve never lit one of these up before. Problem is, there are no little marks or arrows or anything around the knobs to show where the words need to point. For example, the first instruction says to turn the red knob to “pilot position”. I can see “pilot” written on the red knob, but I don’t know if it should face up, down, left or right. See attached photo. Can anybody help me with this?

Looking at the picture and using logic, I would turn the knob counter-clockwise (righty - tighty, lefty - loosey) until PILOT is where OFF is. This assumes that it is truly off at the moment.

Perhaps something here will help:

You really should have a professional inspect your propane system and furnace but the catch 22 is that its unlikely a professional will sign off on the furnace being safe. A manometer timed pressure drop test of the propane system is still the minimum you need to do (IMHO). At least be sure to remove all power sources to the Camper and be well ventilated when testing the furnace. GL

Turns out the position that it’s in in the photo is exactly where it needs to be to start the pilot. The furnace started no problem and seems to be working fine. Thanks for the replies.
