I was wondering how hard it would be to install The Scamp screen door myself?

I've never seen one close up and the photos I've found here aren't very detailed.

Any of you out there that have factory installed Scamp screen doors... Doe's it look too difficult to install for someone that is mildly handy?

Appreciate any advice or detailed photo's

Thanks!

Eric

Still would be interested in seeing some photo's if anyone has any? I was able to find some rudementary installation instructions on the Scampers Yahoo group... If I'm reading them correctly, it seems like a curved "banana board" screws to the right-side (looking into the Scamp) door frame and then the left-side frame attaches to the closet... There also appears to be a top track and bottom threshold that finishes the frame.

I was wondering though, does the bottom threshold end up anywhere near the existing Scamp threshold? Does it stick up enough to trip over? One last thing... When the screen door is folded up against the closet does it take up a lot of room and is there a way to secure it up against the closet?

Thanks for any assistance with my lame questions! If I ened up getting the screen door maybe I'll make a Screen door FAQ for the documents section!

I don't have my Scamp anymore but I had a couple of pictures that may or may not help. Seems like I remember a rubber flap on bottom of screen that just flexes in place on the floor

Eric,
We are thinking of getting the Scamp screen door for the same Scamp you have except ours does not have the bunk beds (counter and closet space instead '86). How hard was for you to put in and are you satisfied with it? We will appreciate any information you can give us.

Eric,

From the pics it looks like a closet project waiting to happen....

Nice job on the screen.

Just purchased a 2009 19'. It seems the plastic roller on the screen door is worn to the point it drops out of the track. Did you get any parts ordering info with your kit?

This thread is from 2007 and Scamp now uses a roll out screen door. HD and Lowes have a section in the hwd. dept. that carries parts and pieces for bifold closet doors you might try there.

Fixed it

The hardware that hold the top pivot pin was placed wrong. The outer half of the plastic bushing was all the way across the top rail
