Is the "Easy Care RV" maintenance plan worth it?

2010 Casita Spirit, I'm a newbee owner and wonder if the $1500 ($100 deductable) warranty the dealer wants to sell me is worth it or if I'll be able to find Casita parts to perform maintenance

Casita parts specific to Casita will come from Texas, it's factory. Parts for components like water heater, furnace, stove can be found from the specific manufacturers, like Atwood, Suburban, Dometic. I never heard of a dealer warranty on a new fiberglass unit. Casita parts are covered by Casita for the first year.

$1500 can buy a lot of parts for sure. I would be hesitant if everything is functional. Give others a chance to chime in before you sign on the dotted line. IMO

Thanks CPHARLEY2008, Its a used unit in excellent shape, the warranty product is an aftermarket plan like home ownership warranties. Seemed a bit steep so I was skeptical.

Put the money in a savings account and use it to pay for any repairs. Use the rest to buy yourself a nice gift.

Just check out all the components at the dealer, the furnace, water pump, a/c, refer, toilet, lights. If they all work, then keep the money to spend on enjoying your new Casita. We maybe having a rally in October up in southern NY to give you a chance to meet other members here on the East coast.

As with any "after-you-buy-it" coverage, (i.e. extended warranties,) they are taking your money for something you most probably don't need and won't use, and they know it! And if they thought the odds were against them, where they would have to pay for some equipment replacement or work, they wouldn't offer it. They're in business to make money, not lose money. If they thought it would cost them money rather than line their pockets, they wouldn't offer it in the first place. Caveat Emptor!

I avoid pay now for service later propositions. Once they have your money you have to rely on their good will. Raz
