just grate

My husband took our 72 Boler out and came back missing one of the grates for the Meynell 2 burner stove. Turns out these things are not so easy to replace. Does anyone here know where I might look to find one?

I looked on eBay and saw a couple of Meynell stoves listed. Too $$$

I also notices some on Airstream forums.

Chances are that a grate or pair from another manufacturer will work. You may need to fashion or buy some clips to hold them in place. I'd keep an eye out for used stoves for sale. Measure the diameter of the existing grate so you will have a good idea of what to look for. Many companies used existing parts to use in their products.

Nice to come across another boler American owner.

I would take photos with rulers in them for size reference.

Then send an email to some of the various RV salvage yards with the information about the make, vintage and the image.

Those junk yards often have boxes sitting with assorted bits and pieces in them. No doubt one of the RV salvage yards will have a grate or two on hand. That brand of stove was used by several makes including airstream, boler and Serro Scotty.

It is a small enough part to be easy to box up and ship.
