We just pulled the hunk of junk heater out of our 13' Scamp.
How do we terminate the end that was once hooked up to the furnace?

If you're comfortable with a crescent wrench, you can go to your home depot, canadian tire, or what have you and get some flare to NPT fittings, and an NPT plug... This is the 'really low pressure' side of the propane system so you have to try pretty hard to end up with a leak.

Trace it back to where it junctions and eliminate or cap the junction and remove the furnace line completely. If it junctions in a T fitting remove the T and make a straight through connection to wherever else it goes.

I agree with Greg. Go back to the junction and remove all of the extra gas line. Was the furnace one of the convection units that does not require any electricity? Several people here are looking for them to use while boondocking and they would be very tahnkful to get one to use.

Here are pictures of my heater. I never tried to use it, but like I said, it wa pretty clean inside. I'm not 100% sure I want to get rid of it yet as new ones cost $400.

I have no problem shipping to Canada, but let me take some pictures and post them (tomorrow)
I do not believe it works, it is fairly rusty and old.

If you are looking at these, I have seen the prices vary up to 100 bucks either way!

Could you be a little more specific as to parts needed to terminate the gas line. My Casita has a tee connection and I'm removing the heater. Could I install a quik disconnect of some kind for the catalytic heater? ANY simple instructions would be greatfully appreciated!!!

There are two schools of thought about these heaters. Some believe that when ever there is an unvented heater indoors it is unsafe.

Others believe these catalytic heaters are totally safe.
