Lagun Table Leg Install Independence

Hi - I bought a Lagun adjustable table leg for my Casita Independence. Has anyone installed a Lagun table leg in this model? I am not sure where to put it as there are so many storage cabinets. I think it will have to be toward the front - sink area - as the only other spot is by the heater - and the lower cabinet may be obstructed. (I guess I can remove the leg if I really want to store something down there - it is empty now.) Also - comes with screws to install - hope that they will work as I have not personally installed something with a screw. Previous owner put some hooks up with screws - and they are solid. A picture is helpful, if you have one. Thank you! Amy (Camping at Grayton Beach FL State Park - beautiful! Two other Casitas here.)

amy, i have a lagun table leg installed in my 16' casita which is totally different from your tralier. i can tell you that where ever you decide would be a good location will probably mean mounting thru a fiberglass surface. the fiberglass alone is not strong enough to provide a stable mount and you'll need to incorporate additional wood and perhaps some serious "L" brackets.

you can see the plywood support at the bottom of the table leg. on the backside there's another similar (but larger) plywood support so you'll have something to screw into and L brackets tying it into the floor.

Patrick - Thank you for the info and the picture. I’ll get some wood and brackets. The picture is very helpful. I just have to find the right spot. Amy

I have installed the Lagun table in my Casita 2019 Independence. As you look to the rear of the Casita, I installed the support bar to the right side of the bed in the corner, where the center and the right side meet. The back door will not interfere when opened. Make sure the trailer is on a level surface.

Thanks Tom - Did you have to put extra wood to support the leg when attaching? If so - I guess you put it behind the fiberglass - otherwise, not sure how that door could open. I appreciate the help - Amy

Amy I use the wood piece that came with the table, on the backside. The door has a clearance about 1 in.

Good luck,Tom

You Tube for install Lagun table in Casita

Travels and Travails have a youtube video of their install, which I believe is 2013 Casita Independence . If link does not work, should be able to find it under Travels and Travails who have a number of Casita how to videos. Good luck - I will need the same install when I get my Independence on order for delivery in April.

When I installed my homemade drop down table I used stainless machine bolts, stainless fender washers and stainless acorn nuts on the exterior. One bolt above and two below the bellyband.

Hi - I watched the YouTube video - which made me decide to install the the Lagun table leg. I love YouTube! I followed Tom’s advice and installed it toward the back right - behind the heater. I say “I” - but my friend’s husband helped me. I love it! The table was a real pain before - as it made it difficult to get up during the night. I met two other Casita owners on my last camping trip - Grayton Beach State Park - FL. I highly recommend this park. Thanks again - Amy
