More work to be done in my gut and remodel. I know these questions are addressed on other threads - its exhausting looking for them though! If there are some good links that would be helpful!
Exhaust hood vent: Took the hood off and egads! so much rotten lauan! It has a louvered cover - the water must be coming in around the outside of it? Reseal with caullking? the vent itself doesn't appear cracked or anything
Belly band: there are several pieces of wood under the
windows i assume are secured via the belly band. Some of these pieces are speckled with black. One in the dinette area is totally crumbly. I am certain most of the
windows leak, and probably most of the rust is from water working its way down from the
windows. How do i test if the belly band is also leaking? there are a few screws i've found that are really rusty (pic attached of extra long screw that was securing bathroom vanity, totally rusted). I should probably replace the wood that has any signs of mold before closing the walls up, yes? The way to do this would be to remove the belly band? I've attached photos of the black speckly stuff and the rusty screw... thoughts?
