That might be a great solution for the Snoozys.
I wouldn't think it would be too hard to figure a bracket to hold a spare.
And then a nice spare cover perhaps a portrait of the Snoozy on it.

It's not quite the same, but in this discussion in a pickup forum there are examples of spares carried on the side and integrated with the fenders: Spare Tires. I'm suggesting mounting much lower for mass distribution and aerodynamics.
Of course, no pickup truck mount is as cool as the setup in this Pierce Silver Arrow... which has the spare in a better position relative to the working wheel/tire and frame.

On the other hand, Karl-and as long as you're in "predesign" mode with your Snoozy...
How 'bout this idea:
Put the spare on the tongue, and move the generator AND that awkwardly inside- stowed battery to above the wheels (one on each side). No better place for that hundred-plus pounds of deadweight, which is all taken off the tongue where it presently is. (Some comes back with the spare, of course).
Seems to me like it would be pretty simple to slap a flattop fender/tray on those wheels. For "covers" one could even perhaps use something at least shaped like the existing fender, but with fiberglass sides that match the Snoozy.
Fastening for the cover could just be a simple hinge at the front/hasp at the back....
Whaddaya think?

Relocate spare tire
I removed the generator from my snoozy tongue and placed the spare tire there. Just had to make a minor change to the hold down bolts. I prefer the extra inside storage space. I now carry the generator in my suburban. The Honda 2000 watt generator has a gas cap that can be placed in the off position, no gas fumes whatsoever

That's an idea Francesca Knowles.
Something I probably would not have thought of.
I've added that to my ideas folder.
I'm also getting a square bumper added to the back and I'm thinking I can maybe attach a spare tire holder that boat trailers have and put a fancy spare cover over the tire. I'll have to see when I get it if it can take the weight.
Starting out I'll probably do as djcolson just said as I'm getting a LEER cap for my tv.

Great ideas! I think putting the spare on the tongue might work. I do not have a generator so any ideas on how to to secure the tire to the tongue is appreciated.
I was also thinking that a storage box on the tongue (like Escape Industries offers) would also be very useful. (Alan/Nicholas - any way to make a storage box for us?)
Meanwhile, I just purchased a cap (A.R.E) and should have it in 2-3 weeks. With the extra room I can now take the spare in the bed and still have lots of room. I'll only carry the spare when towing the Snoozy.

I have one of these on my utility trailer.
I store lug wrench, ropes, tie downs, etc. in it.

Thanks for the photos TLG4FUN.
We just got home this afternoon.
I was wondering how that would look.
I found spare carriers as that and was wondering how it would look,
and which side would look the best. Look very workable.
Be sure and post a pic of the new cover. That yellow really makes
the graphics pop.

I've often thought that to be the ideal place for a spare. Provides additional underneath storage space for items that are likely lighter than a spare tire.
Please provide the technical info as to how you mounted it without stressing fiberglass.
Good job!

Please let us know how you mounted the spare to the fiberglass. I want to get the tire out of the storage area. The one time I needed to get to the spare, it was a major pain. Where did you purchase the bracket? Did you install wood "backing" inside the shell to help with the weight. Please respond. Thanks.

Thanks. I was hoping he read these posts, or the Lilsnoozyclub help section. I guess I'll decide whether or not to install wood backing. That's a lot of weight just hanging off the fiberglass and a lot of stress from bouncing the trailer. I like that plate unit and will install mine just back of the right side fender. Happy Trails.

future LilSnoozy owners- you may want Nick and his crew to fiberglass in some support for the spare mount on future models

This was my installation
The bracket can be purchased at Northern Tool or Harbour Freight for under $20. I "beefed up " the inside of the sink cabinet wall to take the added stress. I was relatively easy. Just take your time.

Is that rust I see dripping from under your belly band in the second picture?

I think there is a stainless steel screw to hold the cabinet in place.
