Honda and Yamaha claim their inverter gens adjust the engine throttle to the load. This results in a quieter operation and a savings in fuel. Does the time required for the engine to throttle up have an adverse effect on an ac compressor when it kicks in?

Yamaha sells one gen with a battery boost that I guess would be somewhat instantaneous, but is this necessary?

ewilkie,
The Yamaha EF3000ise (without the power boost) will operate all 110V items (with the exception of the water heater) at the same time, in our 17' Casita. We usually operate it in the power saver mode. The generator slows momentarily during the A/C start cycle. When I was running a test, the interior lights, Fantastic Fan, bathroom fan, stove vent fan, water pump, Coleman Mach A/C, and microwave were all operating. We purchased that generator to also provide an emergency source of power at home.
Our Yamaha was also converted to use propane fuel since it sits behind the existing propane tanks, eliminating the need to carry gasoline and its maintenance issues.
No problems in 2 years of use.
