Lock strip help

I own a cadet camper and I am trying to install lock strip for windows and every corner is wrinkly and I cannot get it to lay flat inside and out. Any idea what is happening. Did I put much in causing this, I left it a little long like I saw on install videos.

i took everything back out and just put the strip around the window and I think the issue is its still way too long and tying to jam too much in. plus my fiberglass is really uneven with varying thickness. So next is to try and thin out the thick areas and then reinstall and shorten a little at a time

When I installed the side windows in our UHaul I left the weatherstrip a couple inches long and trimmed it to the correct length after I had it all in except the last little bit. Took two of us to hold it in place to keep it straight. After the weatherstrip was in place, then we installed the window, then the final task of installing the lock strip using the Lisle tool. Looks like you have small radius corners that make it more difficult. Maybe you can get it to lay flat using a heat gun or hair dryer

Thanks. I think I am still too long and that is where my problem is. Heat gun is a good idea too.
