Looking for a good power pack

I bought a Schumacher power pack from Walmart. It failed to work after being fully charged. I returned it and the new one also failed after being fully charged.

Any recommendations on a good reliable power pack (car starter).

I bought the microstart XP-3 about 5 years ago. I have used it to boost my 5cylinder Colorado when it was so dead the LED interior light wouldn't even glow. I've started mini-vans, forklifts up to v8 engines. It is still going strong after 5 years. Don't let the small size fool you, it's really powerful.
Costco also sells a similar item and their return policy is really good.

Power pack

I purchased the Clore Automotive JNC 660 last year. It is top rated on Amazon.
It will start your vehicle in sub zero weather. The company sends you charging reminders, too.

What model Shumacher power pack did you get? I bought their SJ1289 model back in September and it seems to work OK. I haven't had to use it for jump starting yet but according to the digital screen there is 12.7 volts dc available and I checked the 120 volt outlet and it has 120 volts according to my volt meter. I got this model because it looked real similar to the Sears Diehard 1150 power pack which I had for 7 or 8 years. The inverter went out on it though so I couoldn't get the 120 volt outlets to work. I have noticed that there seems to be a trend away from power packs with actual batteries in them to power packs that must be powered by capacitors because they are so small compared to the older ones. I don't see my model on display at Walmart now so maybe there have been enough problems with them to discontinue that model.

We've had to use this Anker several times:

Works great and it's very compact. I can easily store it in the trailer in a cupboard.
