Looking for a manual

Hello

I live in Alberta Canada and just recently purchased a 24.5 foot RV
here. I'm wondering if anyone might have an owners manual they could copy and e-mail me.
The RV is a 1999 Kustom Koach -Westwind.

My e-mail address is cruizin2@shaw.ca

Thanks and happy RV'ng to everyone-the season has started early here in Canada

Larry, this forum is dedicated to the all-molded towables. I see your 1999 Kustom Koach is a completely different build type.

You may have better luck gaining the information you seek at:

http://www.IRV2.com

or the Open Road Forums at RV.net

Best of luck

Hi Donna

What do you mean by all-molded?

They're built like fiberglass boats. Typically two halfs joined together to create a "shell." There's only that one seam and no internal framework. No flat panels are affixed to create the exterior walls.

I hope this helps.

Hi Dona

The picture looks like ours except for the front. Our is more rounded.

So I still do not understand why ours is different from other Rv's

Yours is "stick" built, like a house. Studs (wood or aluminum), aluminum or fiberglass siding, possibly a fiberglass nose.

This this group celebrates trailers that are made in molds out of fiberglass and get their body strength from that.

If it has a frame it's not molded. Yours is not different from other RVs but it is different than ours.

Wait a minute....Is this a troll? Maybe I'm falling for it.

Here Larry, this may explain how our trailers are built. This is an Escape 5.0TA coming out of the mold. Just like they build fiberglass boats.

What we call conventional or "stick-built" RV construction starts with a (usually) steel chassis. The walls and ceiling are framed with wood, steel, or aluminum and covered with some kind of exterior skin (commonly aluminum or fiberglass sheets).

All-molded construction starts with a similar chassis, but the entire cabin- walls, ceiling, and sometimes the floor as well- is formed by laying up fiberglass in a mold. Typically two sections (upper and lower or left and right) are then bonded together so that the whole cabin becomes a single, self-supporting unit. There is no framework inside the walls, similar to a fiberglass truck topper. Inside some are finished out with molded fiberglass cabinetry as well; others have conventional wood cabinetry.

You can see a molded fiberglass trailer being put together in the promotional video on the Scamp website (starting at about 7:00).

Advantages of all-molded fiberglass construction include (1) lack of exterior seams, (2) light weight, (3) fewer leaks, (4) aerodynamic shape.

Hope that helps a little to clarify what makes our "egg trailers" different!
