lubricating atwood stabilizer jacks

What do you use to keep these lubricated? I'm thinking grease or oil will just attract and hold dust and dirt given their location. Is a dry lubricant like graphite better ? WD-40? What is your experience?

P.S. Can you tell from my multiple questions that spring has finally arrived in Vermont? Bit of snow still on the north side but the Scamp is now uncovered from her long winter nap and being readied for the season. Norm has created an addiction and we'll be Newfoundland-bound next month.

I use white lithium grease for all outdoor threaded things; should work fine in these too. Comes in a spray can with a dispensing tube like WD40 at Loews or Home Depot

Manufacturer says to clean and oil very six months but does not say what oil to use... (probably because it does not much matter if you clean them every six months ) Trailer Hitch Instructions For DrawTite, Reese, Hidden Hitch & More - etrailer.com

Motorcycle chain lube spray works well in applications like this. sprays on thin and wicks in tight places and then gells like a soft grease. Made to stay in place once applied.

Ditto this! Great for sliding patio doors and screens, as well.

Just uncovered the Scamp which had stabilizers down for the winter. They retracted and folded up with ease. One less hassle and very unlike other lubricants that I first tried.

White lithium works great and I travel a lot on gravel roads.
