Mach8 A/C compressor not coming on

I have the Mach8 and was working on the trailer today - I turned on the AC while plugged in to my home outlet - the A/C came on as expected but then the compressor stopped about a minute later. I turned the temperature setting to cold as possible and tried low cool and high cool. I turned it off and waited a minute but it never came back on. The interior fan still worked as expected the whole time. I am wondering if the outside temperature being just 60 degrees F would cause this and there is no worry or if there is something else?

Sounds like you don't have enough power at your outlet to power the compressor.

...I am not a RV AC specialist but I would suspect low freon(as in a leak)... if the problem persists, you may need to have this checked out by such a specialist to find out just what the problem is.....

There is an overload on the side of the compressor for protection .Some overload limit switches have automatic resets and some have manual resets. Most small A/C units do not have high head pressure or low pressure protection , a timer to allow pressures to equalize between cycles or a temp sensor to prevent the unit from running when there is low ambient temperatures . Short cycling of the compressor by repeatively turning it on and off is not a good practice .

Mach 8s have lots of issues. The blades Crack and break. If you threw a blade, it might have shut the unit down.

Thanks All!!!! The problem turned out to be very simple -- It was simply TOO COLD for the compressor to turn on. I put a cube heater in there to heat things up and it came on as it should. Later today it got about 70 degrees F and I let it run for an hour or so - It cycled on and off as it should. I have learned - YES - temperature DOES make a difference - if it is below 70 or so the compressor will cycle off for a longer period of time.

Wait till it warms up and try it again or turn your furnace or heater on and get it up to about 75 and see if it works before tearing stuff apart is my suggestion. Mine does the same thing in cool weather. f you don't hear it trying to kick on and off you probably don't have a problem
