Name of hardware item?

I am looking for a piece of hardware but can't search it because I don't have a clue what it is called. I am hoping someone will be able to understand my description and know the name.
It is a round metal item with a base about 3/4" in diameter (may be other sizes) with a thinner round piece of metal that is hinged and comes up from the centre of the base. The item being held (a tarp at the grommet for instance) is held down by the folded over hinged metal piece.
I want to see if they would work to hold a flexible solar panel (having grommet type holes around the edges) on my rock guard when I am camping. I want something that will allow me to put the panel on and off easily.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are talking about twist studs, but you need a special shape grommet for them to work.

No clue.
But you could search Lee Valley Tools catalogue and you'd likely find something that will work, and lots of other stuff you really, really want to add to your order.

Thanks Gordon, Those are really close but I have it in my mind that there are some that hinge and bend over (maybe I dreamt it). I can see what you mean. You would need an oblong grommet.

"But you could search Lee Valley Tools catalogue and you'd likely find something that will work, and lots of other stuff you really, really want to add to your order." So true Glen. My Lee Valley catalogues are full of sticky notes marking all my "wants".

Sorry about the picture comment, after I posted it I thought -- that's dumb -- if there was a picture they wouldn't need help.

And after I responded, I thought that perhaps you had thought that I was trying to replace something already on my trailer but I did not know the name of it. to look for it online.

Charlie, tried that with a friend. Just got a blank stare in response. My drawing skills are dismal.
Gordon suggested twist studs:
The right idea for sure but I think I have seen some that bend over instead of twisting
so they can be used with a round hole.

I'm confused by the Staput Fastener. Is there some kind of detent in the tounge that would keep it from vibrating back to open. I looked at the Staput literature and they don't say. Is this intended to only be used when the trailer is stationary
?

Good point Gordon. I am not sure how well it would function when moving. For my purposes though, I think it could work as I will only be using it when i am stopped.

Still looks like a great idea to get more solar when camping.
