Need interior dimensions of Trillium 4500 and 1300

I want to purchase a lightweight trailer. My first thought was Boler or Trillium as they were made here in Canada. I am always drawn to vintage things rather than new so the idea of a restoration project is appealing.

My problem is size - mine. I am slightly over 6'5" tall and while I doubt I will find anything that I can jump up and down in, I would like to find something as tall and wide as possible (standing/sleeping). I think I read that the interior of a Trillium 1300 is 6'3" while the Boler was only 6'. I can probably make do with 6'3" but wondered if the Trillium 4500 was any taller/wider. Since these aren't too easy to find I wondered if anyone can confirm both the interior height and the width (rear bed length) for both the Trillium 1300 and the 4500?

My Trillium 1300 is 6'2" at its highest point. It is 6'5" in width at the rear bunk. I looked into upgrading to a Casita a friend had for sale, and surprisingly found I could not stand completely upright. I am 6'. The bigger problem for my wife and I is the width of the bed. At about 45", rolling over will almost always interrupt your sleep. Don't know the demensions of the 4500.

Im 6'3" and get by nicely in our 13ft Trillium. Close friends have the 17ft model and I have a l'il more headroom in it!!

Don't forget the BigFoot, Outback and Escape! Of the three, BigFoot has been around the longest and because of that...there may be a larger number of used BigFoot's for sale

Because of your height, I'd think for standing up purposes you might be happier with a fiberglass trailer who's top pops up...Compact comes to mind.

For sleeping, one of the models of the Casita has a dinette that makes into a kingsize bed

Good point, Donna. Unfortunately, if Rob is really looking for a lightweight trailer (the size and weight of a typical 13' egg), the only [b]Bigfoot model is the long-gone 13' "Little Bigfoot", which is rarely seen in used trailer ads. The [b]Escape is a 17' (or the new fifth-wheel). The [b]Outback is the recent Trillium, so it's a good possibility, but they are all quite new and thus expensive.

If larger models are an option, there's a few more options, including the [b]17' Boler with lots of headroom.

Have just bought a 1979 Trillium several provices away. I assumed it is a 1300 -- the seller didn't specify the model. Now I'm wondering if it might be a 4500? There is a window in the door; there seems to be extra space to the right of the door; there are cupboards above the front gaucho (and maybe over the bed/dinette); there is a double blue stripe on the passenger side. Are these definitive clues? Thanks for any help!!

The 1300 is approximately 13 feet from ball to bumper while the 4500 is 4.5 meters or about 15 feet. That said, the rear bed size is the big difference. A 1300 will have a 44" bed while the 4500 will have a 54" full size bed. What ever you have, enjoy.

Also, on the 4500, the furnace is left of the entrance door below the closet.

FYI, on older base model 4500's, the fridge doesn't jut out.

The "peak" headroom in both models is approximately 6'2". Note that the roof line is curved and most of the interior headroom is less than 6'2".


The widths of the "double" beds are about 46" and 54" in the 1300 and 4500 respectively, while the length of both is about 6'4".
