Another brand name will work if the length is equal rated at about 25 pounds lift should work I don't know what the Y2505 is rated at but it just lifts the cover.

Kenny, Thank you for the response, and for the information. A friend of mine was able to get the rock guard down for the winter. I donít think he used the technique you describe above! I am very sure that both struts need to be replaced. I think these are not original ones because I see another hole on each side of the rock guard where previous struts had been attached.
