Newbie with Casita Hehr window question

Hello all!

New here and have a quick question about my '90 Casita Spirit. I was getting water through my Hehr window and after watching a youtube video, I found out that the weep holes were on the top and that the window was mounted upside down! I pulled the window and it looks like the previous owner put calk between the rubber seal and the RV itself. Maybe a dumb question, but is this correct? Or do I put the butyl tape on the frame, mount it to the Casita and put the calk around the outer lip of the frame?

Upside down. There's a story there . When I reset my windows, I cleaned the fiberglass using acetone. I applied butyl tape to the window flange. I screwed it in. Mine uses an inner clamping ring and no rubber seal. The butyl oozed for a day or so. I used a dull putty knife to trim. Some folks appy a bead of caulk to keep the butyl clean. I didn't but next time if there is a next time I will. Seven years, no leaks. Good luck, Raz

Retighten the screws after a couple days as the butyl may compress some after it sets.
