Noises waterpump

Does anyone have any good ideas that have worked in quieting a noisy water pump in a Scamp? Our 2015 Scamp water pumped is SO loud. It is embarrassing.

Quietest one I have found.

I use on for the shower drain because I think it is less likely to plug up, but it is probably OK either way since I installed the filter as well.

thats a bilge pump. is that suitable for use as an on-demand water pump ? typically RV water pump delivers about 35 PSI

Our Casita water system was very noisy too. I found that on my unit, the pump itself was quiet, but that the pex lines needed foam padding to isolate vibrations caused by the pump. Wrapping as many lines as I could get to helped quite a bit. You might try wrapping your water lines first before you go to the trouble of replacing the pump - which may - may not - be the actual problem.

Here is a link to the water supply version, but they are all the same, really.
Jabsco PAR 36800 Belt Driven High Pressure Water Pump [36800-1000]

http://seabornemarine.com/jabsco-par...mp-36800-1000/
The cut-out pressure is 40 PSI.
Flow is 3.3 GPM.
I am considering swapping the supply pump and this drain pump (after cleaning ) as it is quiet and the filter will protect the other pump.
No problem with the belt driven pump.
Perhaps the bilge pump does not have the pressure switch where the supply pump does.
They are pretty expensive, but I found mine as a used pull out.

Add a tank to smooth out the pulsations, and mount them in rubber. I have heard that mouse pads work well. I did this in my old camper and it cut the sound way way back. I have a tank for my bigfoot that I haven't installed yet.

Remount the pump using a rubber pad under it.

If it is loose or making excess noise from vibration then fix it.
If it is just the normal sound of the pump running, ignore it... after all the pump only runs momentarily with each use.

Watch what you store next to the pump, some objects can amplify even a small vibration. Check for loose tiedowns or brackets which could pick up harmonics.

The accumulator aids in reducing short cycling of the water pump.
I have had one since I rebuilt my Scamp, but the pump I have for on board water pressure bleeds back through it slightly and the pump runs occasionally to build back pressure. It also tends to have city water fill the onboard tank and actually over flow it through the vent. Kind of an unwanted self filling "feature".

This will help the short cycling when using a low flow, like brushing teeth etc. Sometimes you can get the water you need without even turning the pump on. Don't forget to order the PEX parts.
