Options, Options Options

We have placed our order, but have time to change options, since the build date in Mar 2011.
Of the options on the 16’ Scamp, which ones would you say are necessary and which one would you say are not, or find an alternative to the option Scamp offers. I am a total n00b to scamping and like to hear what others think.

Not to discourage a new thread, but just in case you would like to see many replies that people have already written, I'm pretty sure there have been one or two long threads on the same or similar topic (i.e. buying new trailer, what options do people recommend or wish they had or had not ordered).

Congrats on your new trailer

Raya

Edited to add: I searched "new Scamp options" and came up with the following threads.

http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ons-32023.html

And a couple less applicable ones that you might still find useful:

My apologies if you have already read these; I couldn't tell from your post.

Howdy,
A while back I spoke with a rep at the Scamp factory.
He told me that the oak interior added 300 to 400 pounds
to the weight of a 16 or 19 5th wheel, something to
consider even if you have a stout tow vehicle.
Good Luck with your new rig.

If you like to take your bikes, make sure they add the receiver for a bike rack.

... and don't believe what they tell you about weight! When I talked to Alan at Scamp about a new 13 footer, he had told me that a decked out 13 (not the deluxe wood) would weight between 1,100 and 1,200 pounds. Well, I ended up buying a used one with hardly any options and it weighs 1,200 pounds. That's without a battery and with no water in the tank. No A/C, no heat, and no DC charging system. These trailers are heavier than they claim... that's for sure.

Like all small trailers there is not enough storage. Order the overhead storage for the rear, if you don't have the front bath overhead storage will also be available for the front.

We are thinking of adding more storage over the bed in our 5th wheel so when I crawl over my husband and bump my head I will be awake by the time I get to the restroom.
