Original Awning Set-Up and Poles

I've been practicing putting the original awning up to prepare for the Trillium's first trip on Thursday. I ended up with three extra poles that I have no idea where they go. All three have a red marking on them so they must go together. Any thoughts? Also, does the awning look like it is put up correctly?

you don't want any sag in the middle if its going to rain, or it will fill up with water and collapse under the weight.

Set up

Usually the from of the awning is lower than the trailer. So water does not run back towards the trailer and one front corner is lower than the other so water drains off that way. Whichever way will leave an area wet that you don’t plan on walking through or the way the ground lays so water can drain away. The curved poles and the smaller straight piece. Are they long enough to span the front width of the awning? in your setup? Is there a “rod pocket” on the front edge of the awning or Mayes some cloth or Velcro ties? Something to make the front edge straight and not saggy?

Is there a hole in the straight piece? If so, I would thing that those poles are used to support the outer edge of the awning. The third picture looks wrong. The ridge pole should be at the top of the middle pole. That rubber piece should probable be against the trailer. What does the other end of that pole look like?

The end of the middle pole has a hook like thing that slips into the awning rail. I found another pole that was longer that fit in that section and helped with the sag. The rubber end is shaped to fit against the upright pole. The three leftover poles go on the rebar supports on the bumper to serve as a clothes line. Pretty clever!
