I seem to remember hearing about a mutiny on the Bounder.

In Her Majestys English it's a not very nice person. In RV english it can be a sticky motorhome or trailer.

If it sat outside for 6 years, I would first take care of the leaks and water damage before worrying about polishing.

Google says Class A windwagon from maker Fleetwood. What's a windwagon, Bob?

Is your Bounder all fibreglass? I assume the exterior is painted no matter what the body panels are made of. If so, my opinion is that compounding the paint would be the way to go in preference to applying floor wax except as a low effort, last ditch fix.

As in "You, Sir, are a cad and a bounder. Unhand my daughter, I say, Sir." Only a small 'b' though.

Hi, Dale

Lots of folks with rigs like yours seem to be using "Redmax Pro" with really good results. Here's a link to a long discussion at a site with a big mix of RV types. There are folks commenting there who've used the treatment on all kinds of siding- and even on cars!

The very first few posts at that link give a good description (with pics) of the method used by someone on a rig with siding like your Bounder has.

Good luck with the shine-up!

Francesca

Why assume that? The majority of fiberglass-covered RVs (both trailers and motorhomes) have gelcoat (recent fashion has been white with vast amounts of decal) as the surface finish. Many are indeed painted but that's a premium feature; Bounder is up the Fleetwood Class A motorhome range enough that now they typically are painted, and even Fleetwood's bottom level is now partially painted, but the unit under discussion here is from two decades ago.

It could be painted, but that's not a safe assumption... and I think unlikely.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Dale, Congrats on your purchase. Though fiberglassrv.com main interest isn't MH's, (molded glass travel trailers) anyone who has driven down a highway or camped in a campground has seen a Bounder...... There are tons of them on the road with almost cult status!

Though Bounders are not my favorite Rv, they have a huge following and are praised as one of the best Rv's on the road........

Here's a group I found for you, Bounders of America - BOA - Fleetwood Bounder RV Owners Group Hope you find the answers your looking for!

Here's the logo, that might help others to know what you bought! Enjoy your new purchase. Hope you get years of creating great memories.........

Never noticed. I'm sorry. I asked Google the musical question "1991 fleetwood bounder painted or gelcoat" and got a thread in which at least two owners were contemplating having them painted. When asked why, one poster revealed that gelcoat could no longer be maintained easily. I retract my unwarranted assumption that these unique vehicles are painted. I have led a sheltered life. Even the somewhat distraught lady whom I helped to move a picnic table to allow her to land her enormous "craft" right after she trimmed the trees in the immediate vicinity didn't invite me in. I don't wonder why.

By all means use RMPro or ZEP on your unpainted fibreglass bus. That's what it's not made for and it does it's job quite well. Personally I would keep it away from paint. There IS some evidence that an attempt to remove the stuff from a painted surface with ammonia does result in an unsightly mess.

Geez I thought that thang was digital except for the analog pointer. Or maybe it's just a pointer. What would be the analog of a pointer? A pointer by any other name would point as well? OK, I always admired those Pace Arrows. I found the hula skirt mudflaps hypnotic. What is sarcasm?

My mother told me there'd be lifetimes like this!!!

Sorry, I put a new control board in my Atwood furnace this morning. Cheap repair at 90$ plus the 18$ for a new regulator to check the one I got. What I can't get over is the local "RV applicance repairman" [read thief] who came out last week, fiddled and fussed, told me six different stories to see which one would impress me, didn't have a manometer with him, and took the shirt from my back for the "diagnostic" (those are sarcastic quotation marks!) and the promise that he'd get me a price on a replacement furnace. After another week of going blind over Atwood PDFs, I finally found a good sequenced troubleshooting protocol on Mark's RV site and discovered that for my particular symptom this feller had it down to dirty or obstructed squirrel cage fan or exhaust pipe, LP regulator, or furnace control board. I had already eliminated dust, dirt, bondo, insulation batte, mud dobber nests, and mystical influences in the squirrel cage and the exhaust port so I got down to waiting for Brown with my mail order fixes. So today's all good except maybe my anolog crapometer is reading a bit high. Happens. This is totally OT so you may consider it a useless digression.

Not entirely useless...I don't think O.P. Dale cares anyway- he hasn't been back since he checked in on the answers he'd gotten by yesterday afternoon.

Hope he got what he needed!
