Paint colour match? interior fibreglass in a 1979 Trillium

Hoping somebody can help with a paint match for the interior 'creamy' colour of the fibreglass in a 1979 4500 Trillium. I'm hoping to be able to patch and spot paint the fibreglass interior. I've figured out how to fill and smooth holes, but need to know how to touch-up the paint colour - including the sheen. Anybody got a match? Thanks!

Thanks very much, Donna. I had seen that post on the exterior Trillium colour match - but I'm still looking for help matching the interior fibreglass. I am still figuring out this site's search function, so may well have missed some prior discussions.

I have a cream(?) 1978 Trillium 4500. It appears the inside and outside were originally the same color, but over 40 years the outside color has faded dramatically. The inside is much darker and more uniform.

I took the door off and took it to an automotive paint shop to get paint matched to the exterior of the door. You could do the same, but have them match the paint to the interior of the door.

EDIT: Actually you could get a color match at any paint store. Get an enamel type paint.

Usually the interior and exterior FG gelcoat colours are the same unless the trailer has been painted. I am really not a fan of painting F/G unless there is no other option. I usually use white gelcoat and use a tube of yellow tint made for use with F/G. If you can't find a F/G shop near you, try looking for boat repair shops or a place that specializes in Corvette bodies. The hardest thing is to get used to how much/little hardener to use and that comes only with experience.

Hi, that creamy yellow colour is called Colonial White.

I have two options for you:

1. Colonial White paint match
Cloverdale paint – 7060314 AXN-28, C-9, I-1

2. Pettit EZ Poxy paint - 3456 - Fighting Lady Yellow

The first paint colour is not necessarily the best paint to put on fiberglass, whereas the second one is designed for fiberglass and is a marine paint.

Good Luck.

Maybe I'm wrong! Thanks for the prompt: I just contacted the wizard who identified the gelcoat as Omni AE acrylic enamel, Isuzu Parthenon Ivory #91110. Fingers crossed.....

Just checked out that "fighting lady" colour (love the name!) - and discovered it isn't available in Canada. Darn!

A few years ago I met a fellow Trillium owner who had made some custom wood pieces put me onto this paint from Behr (see photos). I've used it inside on quality plywood. Can't tell it from the original fiberglass color. Also, many paint stores have technology to match paint from a chip or even a good color photo, I believe.

You have to be careful colour-matching a photo. The paint may match the photo, but the photo likely won't match the real colour. It depends on camera settings and lighting, etc.

I refinished a table and chair set for my son and his new wife in last Christmas. The Beyond Paint system was perfect! I used the light gray, did a small stencil and reupholstered the seats.

Hi, My name is LeeAnn/AKA Lee. I'm brand spankin' new to this & still having a time navigating around. I saw you were talking about paint. I'm just painting over in a color I like. I'm not a purest. I don't know how to do anything. I was planning on painting the exterior with regular exterior paint! I've read some people talking about boat paint, Gel paint..epoxy? EEek! I'll take any help or tips you can provide. Thanks,Lee
