Painting Trillium lining

This may not be a new question, although I can't find a thread. Has anyone had luck painting the old Trillium "rhino-skin" liner. The liner on my 76 is okay but needs some perking up. Would acrylic work? Does it need a primer?

Randy, yes its been done by many on this forum. We painted our Boler 13 ensolite. We cleaned it well, then primed with an acrylic primer, then painted with acrylic paint. To search for others' methods for painting ensolite, enter "painting ensolite" in the search box at the BOTTOM of the Search pull down menu.

EDIT: We used exterior acrylic paint.

Clean the ensolite , use Kilz primer , then you can use a latex paint, Lots of people have done this.

This more of a suggestion what not to do when painting the liner. I cleaned and primered the ensolite in my Boler, then made the mistake of painting it with a ceiling paint. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that ceiling paint marks up very easily. Every time something bumps the ensolite, it leaves a mark. It still looks good, but I wish that I had gone with a paint with better durability. I guess they figure if you are painting a ceiling, not much chance of things getting up that high to mark it up. Lesson learned the hard way!

Agree with Jay's concern. We used latex/acrylic exterior trim paint.

I suggest 2 coats of Kilz primer first.
