Pink Vinyl

The vinyl flooring under the dinette and in the front storage compartment in our 2014 Scamp has turned from tan to pink. The vinyl in between is okay. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Mine did that where the carpet square provided by the factory was in front of the door. They put adhesive on the square to prevent it from sliding around so we figured maybe the adhesive did it from the heat. It happened within the first year of ownership.

We ended up replacing the entire vinyl flooring. From what I've read this happened to most Scamps from that year. They tried a different adhesive and this was the result.

Sounds like they installed an inferior product to save a couple of bucks...

This is an old problem, long rectified. Yes, there was a miscalculation on something by Scamp, not sure if it was the adhesive, the vinyl, or some unusual interaction between them. If these were newer trailers, certainly I would expect some adjustment from Scamp.

Most residential finish materials are not warranted for RV use due to vibration, temperature and humidity extremes, and heavy wear.

At this point, I would just rip it out, sand off as much of the adhesive as possible, apply a stain blocking primer, and install the finish flooring of your choice.
